The Origin of Cult
Started in 2012 by serial entrepreneurs Cat Turner & Bridey Lipscombe, the agency was formed out of a desire to drive excellence in social creative.
The agency has evolved as the digital landscape has rapidly moved forward; with the services expanding to strategic consultation, emerging tech innovation and production - with studios in London and New York.
Cat & Bridey
Often described as two halves of one brain, Bridey is the lead strategic mind at Cult, overseeing all strategy within the agency. She launched The Store in early 2018 which offers off-the-shelf solutions for content and strategy to clients.
Cat is a natural creative and leads on the culture for the business; launching an industry-leading wellness programme for the agency in 2017 and announcing The Experiment in 2018.
The pair were named Digital Mavericks by Campaign in 2015 and value mentorship as part of their roles, encouraging fresh talent into the industry.

CCO & Co-Founder
Cat is passionate about doing things differently, always challenging her team and clients to do the same. Multi-award winning, she enjoys writing, speaking and learning about digital and its impact on the human condition. Pioneering a healthy agency culture, Cat has worked hard to establish an industry-leading wellness and training programme at Cult. In early 2018 she launched the Cult Experiment; merging developments in emerging technology with a desire to do human good. The Experiment’s first project ‘Mindscape’ is a voice skill that assists those suffering from anxiety. She’s inspired by “those who break the fucking mould”.
CSO & Co-Founder
Bridey’s career began in PR, creating the foundations for many of Cult’s world-first campaigns. A tour de force, she‘s able to think with absolute clarity, and is a natural problem-solver and strategic pioneer. Bridey led the establishment of Cult NYC and continues to push the business forward, diversifying the offering and opportunities for clients.
Joining Cult in 2016, Calvin has been pivotal in pushing the business forward. A natural leader, he came top of his class at McDonald’s University where he set records for his burger-making skills. Calvin is a big Darwninist funnelling his ‘evolve or die’ attitude into everything he does; from traveling the world, smashing his Pilates classes, bossing his MBA or keeping Cat and Bridey on point.
Having headed up Client Services at Cult since 2014, Caroline assumed the role of Chief Operations Officer in 2017. Sitting across all operations at Cult from a global perspective, Caroline keeps Cat and Bridey in check. As a Cult veteran, she says of her work: “I’m inspired by our team, our clients and our office dogs.” She can be seen about town with Angus/Bonnie her West Highland Terrier.
Executive Creative Director
Matt is an award-winning, no bullshit, straight talking and disruptive creative. He’s worked all over, from above the line networks to small independent start ups. He’s launched, grown and re-invented brands all over Europe. He’s cut his teeth in this industry rolling up his sleeves and getting his head down by helping his teams win awards and challenge the way we do things. At weekends you’ll find him obsessing over his love for Arsenal FC, which keeps his emotions running high and low.
As Financial Controller at Cult, Billy oversees the most important aspects of the business, such as the budget for Friday drinks or quarterly agency parties. When asked about his role he said; “Learning inspires me; learning a new word, a fact, new formula or short cut in Excel. If I've learnt something to further myself in my career or as a person, I feel fulfilled. I'm embarking on skills to learn DIY so I can be self sufficient in my new home, and then I have designs to learn mountain map reading to further my hobbies. Wherever I can learn to become a more rounded individual in finance and operations, I will endeavour to do so.” Billy is part of the Tough Mudder Elite and should not be messed with.
Head of Talent
Having headed up talent acquisition at Cult for several years, Jason knows what he’s looking for; an entrepreneurial spirit, a team player, and a badass attitude. He’s usually the first person you’ll speak to at the agency and if you stick around, he certainly won’t be the last. Jason is inspired by inclusion, cultural diversity and cultural awareness, all run as threads throughout Cult's entire workforce.
New Business Lead
Luke is renowned for three important things at Cult; his tattoos (22 and counting), his fur babies (he’s dad to four dogs), and his ability to work with Cat on a daily basis. Luke joined the agency in late 2016 and has been the first port of call for all inbound business since then. He comes to work every day due to his work husband Alex Manning, the second half of ‘Team LA’, the successful new business duo. Of his inspirations, he says: “Brands who are doing things differently, those who are willing to take the risks, it's these kinds of brands that reap the rewards and the ones we get to work with on a daily basis.”
Joining the team in 2017, Fiona bought with her a pedigree of strategic expertise, critical thinking and drive to the client services team. An ambitious marketer and problem-solver, she has played a fundamental role in delivering best-in-class campaigns for some of our biggest clients, including Amazon Fashion, Coty, and Netflix. Juggling her time between being a total #GirlBoss and full-time mummy to the office pup, Milo - you'll find Fi blowing off some steam at the Cult Bar come Friday... Fi is inspired by young, enthusiastic marketers who work hard to create positive change in an industry founded on bullshit.
Multi-lingual and multi-talented, Emma came to Cult hot off the boat from Leo Burnett in mid-2018. Forming her career working amid the towers of large global advertising agencies working for household names in beauty, FMCG, food and technology; she moved to Cult in the search for something grittier, more fast-paced and digitally-led. Emma now heads up global campaigns for Sally Hansen and PepsiCo/Unilever, bossing a trans-atlantic team. When she's not slaying in client meetings, Emma can be found downing cocktails in various establishments around Shoreditch or twirling around a dancefloor covered head-to-toe in sequins. Little-known fact, she was once a UK latin and ballroom dancing champion.
Having started his agency career at Naked, Alex joined Cult’s strategy team in early 2017. Often described by his team as one of the smartest people they know, Alex is both a linguist and strategic visionary. Alex's super skill is his ability to unpack the most complex of problems and elegantly deliver them back to clients.
A true braveheart in every sense of the word - charismatic and loves a drink. Annabel is the Archbishop of Banterbury and the silent assassin you never saw coming. Joining Cult in the summer of 2017 she has worked across Revlon Pro, Barbour, Sally Hansen and Netflix, to name a few. Methodical and meticulous to the nth degree, Annabel has developed some of our largest clients by applying her excellent people skills and determination to create great campaigns. Bonus fact, she is also fluent in French - ooh la la! Her motto: “if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” - Roald Dahl.
Charlotte was one of Cult’s first recruits from their FRESH MEAT relationship with Ravensbourne University; she entered the competition to join the agency during her final year of study in 2017. Following a stellar three-month internship, she joined the ranks full-time, supporting the strategy team and working across a number of new business and internal strategic projects spanning Topshop Beauty, Dunhill and many more. Charlotte is always willing to offer a very capable hand and can be seen donning a new slogan tee daily, which she says, is her inspiration.
An anomaly in every way, Freddie is one of the kindest and talented creatives in the industry. Famed for his Instagram alter ego - @FreddieMade he’s as at home creating memes of Rihanna or the Queen as he is leading on creative for brands such as Barbour, Bally and Marc Jacobs. A little-known fact is his love of a regime, one of which is: “Lemon water when I wake up, black filter coffee mid morning, sparkling water after lunch and a large house white wine in the evening”.
Quick witted, intuitive and just a little bit spicy - there's a reason why she's been dubbed 'Jem-Z'. Our secret weapon when it comes to channeling #hype strategy, Jemma serves nonchalant realness whilst delivering effective process for some of Cult's biggest clients, including Coty and Amazon Fashion. Landing at Cult mid-2017, she quickly became one of the agency's key account managers, running campaigns and live production from the UK, USA and Berlin. Energetic but driven, Jemma cites working with young, energetic creatives as her inspiration, affirming that it's possible to achieve anything, at any age.
Junior Account Manager
Notorious for his two breakfast and two lunch regime, Joe is the office hotty with buns of steel and the perfected pout. Having worked in digital marketing, Joe works as junior account manager across a range of different clients such as Hello Student, Umbro and Clarins - his natural flair for thinking outside of the box and problem solving have helped to consistently deliver new and exciting campaigns. In his own words “Treat those as you want to be treated and treat yo self".
Packing some serious kudos in the world of social influence, Lauren joined Cult in 2018 to lead on influencer strategy across both sides of the pond. After beginning her career at ASOS, she moved to Australia to fast track her profession as head calf (baby cow) rearer. After setting the standard in livestock management, Lauren decided it was time to return to the UK to become an ASOS Insider, where she began carving a serious side hustle as a plus size fashion influencer via her gram (@curvy_roamer). Inspired by by kick-ass, strong women who use their platform to go against the mould, and a deep love for Chicken Nuggets, Lauren brings a wild but authentic energy to both the team and clients she works with.
Junior Art Director
Lewys joined Cult in 2016 and from day one brought his A-game. Multi-talented and well-liked, he bring passion and conceptual flair to everything he does. He is driven by intelligent thinking and inspired by “creativity for the greater good, bold design that solves real world problems in the simplest of ways”. Smart, driven and great to be around, Lewys has worked across some of Cult’s largest projects, most recently the creative positioning of Mindscape.
Senior Art Director
Taking inspiration from "creativity that cuts through the impossible”, Robin’s passion lies in realising ideas that cross boundaries, inspire and connect people. With a background in digital arts and film, he works across a range of media with the practical skills to conceptualise and realise an idea from start to finish.
Adam. So to conclude, he's pretty good at what he does and enjoys having a laugh whilst doing it.
EA to Co-Founders and Office Manager
Paul is quite simply the embodiment of joy. He’ll welcome you to the London office with a smile, and manages to co-ordinate both Cat and Bridey’s lives - no mean feat. A former dancer, his flexible and agile approach means working with Paul is a breeze. He cites his success as an office manager being entirely down to the teams that he works with - but we all know it's his grace and smarts.
Influencer Marketing Manager
One of the veterans at Cult, Robyn joined the agency back in 2015 as junior account manager before progressing to account manager were she cut her teeth to deliver social-first campaigns for clients such as Rimmel, St Tropez, Kurt Keiger, Barbour, and Sky. In 2017, Robyn transitioned to her current role of influencer marketing manager to spearhead Cult's first Talent department to build relationships and deliver best-in-class strategies for our clients. She currently manages campaigns for St Tropez, Dunhill and Netflix. Robyn is inspired by real, offline conversations and her team's energy, most - moments of genius don't translate on WhatsApp! If you love pugs and/or are South African, you're going to get on GREAT with this one!
Account Supervisor - NYC Office
Imogen joined Cult’s NYC team in August 2018 after many years working as one of their lead clients. Following the growth of Cult from the beginning, Imogen soon realised agency life was her destiny and made the move to work for the likes of Sally Hansen and Amazon Fashion. Previously, she led the international brand expansion for YO! Sushi into North America, creating and implementing the overarching brand strategy into 7 new markets, across 4 states. Her passion for bringing brands to life in new and challenging situations is closely rivalled with her passion for food. With food running deep in her Italian family bloodline, Imogen also moonlights as Cult’s resident restaurant critic. Feel free to ask for any recommendations on either side of the Atlantic.
Verity joined Cult from in-house at Burberry in early 2018. With over five years in the business, she brings complex luxury shoots together sharing her wealth of experience with our production team in both London and New York. Verity is “inspired by the people I have met and the people I'm yet to meet.”
HOM (Head of Mischief)
Quite literally raised at Cult, Milo started his agency life in 2017 at the tender age of 3 months old. A highly spirited young man with a lot to say for himself, Milo can often be spotted looking for his ball or championing playtime around the office. He's a sucker for belly rubs and being held like a baby, but come Friday you'll find him at the bar chasing prosecco corks.
