Today, our CEO and Co Founder, Bridey Lipscombe will return to Bournemouth University with Account Manager, Robyn Bolwell. Both Bournemouth alumni, they have been keen to give back to the University which helped pave the way for their careers today.

One thing that stood out for both of them whilst they completed their studies there, Bridey reading PR and Robyn reading Advertising and Marketing Communications, was the lack of integration and real understanding of agency life or processes and the chance to work with real brands on real live briefs.

At the end of last year, they reached out to an ex faculty head within The Bournemouth Media School to collaborate with final year students as part of their final grade in the ‘Digital Futures’ unit. The students ranged with degree backgrounds in PR, Marketing and Advertising – bringing with them a rich bank of skill and fresh creative minds.

To truly challenge the students, they set 3x live digital briefs which they chose to tackle to deliver a 360 digital strategy complete with research, insights and creative execution.

Each brief had its own business problems to overcome, enabling students to put their studies into practise –  applying all skills mastered during their time at Bournemouth University to tackle a real brand challenge.
Cult guided the students throughout the agency process of tackling a digital brief with the 1-1 support , hosting a ’tissue brief’ session with the groups via Skype, giving the students full agency process for tackling a digital brief from Start to Pitch.

Bridey and Robyn will be attending a day in Bournemouth today for the ‘pitch’ stage where the students will present their strategy and gain valuable feedback.

Watch this space for the winners and a round up of some of the great work from the day!
